The aim of the Citizen Journalism Project is to help citizens find important, interesting, and globally relevant stories in their own communities, or those in other regions of the world, and give them the skills and platform to share these stories with their peers around the world. The project provides opportunities for enrichment in cultural exchange, journalism, technology, photography and education. Thorough initial trainings, participants, many of whom are youth and young adults, are given the opportunity to become familiar with tools to create radio, photo and video stories using a variety of open source computer technologies and recording equipment that allows them to continue to report on stories in their communities.
